Hairstyle ideas: Dutch braid (DIY)
My hair is really short and thus I don't have much option on how to wear it. Recently I tried a dutch braid though and I really like the outcome so I decided to show you how it's done.
A dutch braid is basically a normal braid, just that you don't put the outside strands over the middle strands but under it.
For this particular hairstyle I made a french braid but dutch braided it instead of a regular braid to get the braid showing up.
1. Comb your hair back.
2. Pick a small section of hair and devide it into three strands.
3. Put one outside strand (e.g the right strand) under the middle strand and the other outside strand (the left strand) under the new middle strand.
4. Pick up hair and connect it with the three strands.
5. Repeat braiding until you are left out of hair to pick up.
6. Continue with a regular dutch braid until you are left out of hair and secure the ends with an elastic.
7. Go back and loosen up the braid to make it look softer. If you have short hair, like me, you don't have to do that because the braid will be loose enough (maybe even too loose, as you can see in the picture there are a lot of flyaways lol), beside that, this step is totally optional and you can just leave the braid tight.
So this is how it looks in my hair:
