Photoshop Tutorial 1 : Making Images Transparent
Photoshop is an amazing program to use, while it is quite expensive, once you've bought it, it is 100% worth it.
It is quite tricky at first to figure out, but hopefully this tutorial will help you!
There are 2 ways to make an image transparent, so I'll explain both.
1. Open up photoshop
2. Go to file >> open and select your image.
(when saving your image, make sure it is saved as a .png and is taken on a solid background -- skate park or your cub condo)
I will be using this image:
3. (OPTION1)
Using the Magic Eraser Tool:
(right click on the eraser tool to get the drop down menu and select Magic Eraser tool)
Click anywhere on the background (make sure also to click inbetween her legs)
Your result should look like this:
4. (OPTION2)
Open up your layers tab (Windows >> Layers)
Right click on your layer (background image) and select duplicate.
Uncheck the layer visibility.
It should look like this:
(where the red circle is, it is encircling the layer visibility button)
Make sure the top layer is selected (background copy, like in the example)
Use the Magic Wand tool (right click the quick selection tool and use the magic wand tool)
Select the background:
and hit the delete key!
(make sure to do inbetween her legs too)
it will look like this when its transparent:
5. Saving the image:
File >> Save as >> File name: (enter whatever you'd like the image to be called, eg. transparentpic12) >> Format: (PNG) and click save.
I hope this helped some of you! If you have any questions, feel free to post them below:33
(as you can see, option1 is MUCH easier)
